Monday 9 November 2026 is a local public holiday in the city of Madrid (the feast of Our Lady of the Almudena). It is on the list of 2026 local holidays published in the BOCM, the Community of Madrid’s official gazette, alongside San Isidro on 15 May.

If you organise company events, the key point is that it is a day off across the municipality of Madrid: offices in the city are usually closed, so a corporate event that Monday makes little sense. It also creates a long weekend that some people stretch into a short trip, so avoid in-person meetings on Friday 6 November if any of your attendees are travelling. A week earlier, Monday 2 November is also a holiday across the Community of Madrid, the moved All Saints’ Day.

Note that this is a local holiday: it affects workplaces in Madrid city, not those elsewhere in the Community of Madrid.
